When Hurricane Harvey closed in on Houston, Bob Gyenge and his wife Charlotte were on the highway headed north – toward Bryn Mawr and their daughter Sydney’s first-year orientation.  “With Hurricane Harvey in our rear view mirror, we made a beeline out of harm’s way. Over the next 96 hours we followed the stories of devastation on the car radio, various social media outlets, and phone updates from family and friends in Houston. On 8/31 we learned that our home had been spared from the destruction that Harvey wrought on Texas.”

Homeward bound, Bob and Charlotte stopped for breakfast in Chattanooga with Jim Kennedy H'74.  “It had been 43 years since I saw JOK on campus, but our conversation and comfort level was as seamless as decades ago.”

“If you find your way to Houston,” he says, “give us a shout!”
