John Emerson has returned to earth from his stratospheric experience as the US ambassador to Germany. Back to L.A. Back to work with the Capitol Group as Vice Chairman, Capital International. Actually, John returned not only to the US but to the Hill as well. He received an honorary degree this spring, presented at the graduation ceremony by Susan Skerritt K'76, John’s friend and a Hamilton board member. John was honored to receive this degree, although, he says, “the whole thing did beg the question of whether something was wrong with my initial degree!!”

Meanwhile, John’s wife Kimberly continues her work on the International Board of Human Rights Watch and the USC Center on Public Diplomacy Advisory Board. Jackie, their oldest daughter just graduated from Stanford -- and played the role of Foxface in the movie, The Hunger Games. Meanwhile, their twins, Hayley and Taylor, are in their sophomore year at Wash U in St. Louis.
